2nd Accord
Backup Car Owned by Superman001

  • Just picked the new Accord, as mentioned in another post i'll be keeping the 6th Generation and running that as usual while sorting whatever needs doing on the 7th Generation.
Just want to get all fluids, valve clearances, discs/pads and geometry sorted in the next 6 months or so.
Only got the advert pics of the car as the weather is shockingly bad out there.

Previously owned a 1997 5th Generation 2.2 and was a faultless car so even though I've owned other makes I've always had a soft spot for Accords
  1. Not much to report, MOT done in September and new suspension bush fitted but can't remember which one.

Full service last week, oil/filter, spark plugs, front discs, pads, brake fluid, front drop link, rear anti roll bar bushes, cleaned K&N panel filter, pollen filter.

Got the car on 78k and now it's covered 97k, also done 6k in the 6th Generation so that's 25k of trouble free miles in the Accords this year.
  2. The CL7 is booked in for a service on Friday, not really used it much recently and have been using the 6th Generation to go between Paisley and Plymouth the last couple of months.
She will be getting fresh fully synthetic oil, a Hamp oil filter, new rear left caliper as the one that's on is binding, new Pagid rear discs and Pagid Pads.

  3. Hey guys where's the best place online to order a new/remanufactured rear caliper for my 2005 Accord?
Anywhere apart from Bigred as their site is unavailable at the moment, ideally need to order today as I work away and only home for the week.
    Thanks guys.
  4. New airbox screws to replace the corroded one's collected from Phoenix Honda.

  5. Managed to change the air filter on the CL7 today but the airbox lid screws were totally corroded.

I just used a socket in the end as you can see here a screwdriver just rounded the heads

New K&N filter on top, awesome quality.

Old filter that I took out was at least a genuine item.

Not the dirtiest filter I have seen but definitely wasn't changed at the last Honda service.

  6. 2 new Michelin Pilot Sport 3's going on

  7. Took the CL7 into Automek today to get the geometry checked out so thats one less thing to worry about.
Whilst the car was on the ramp I noticed a nail in one of the rear tyres and as they are not Pirelli's like the fronts I took the opportunity to order 2 new Uniroyal Rainsport 3's to be fitted tomorrow.

Also had a new panel filter delivered today

  9. She's looking well. I'm sure she'll be even better after you've given her the @Superman001 treatment. :Niceone:
