I've just been told that there is no replacement part for the front to back part of the exhaust system on a 2003 2.4l petrol Auto Tourer and that it will be a "special order" costing £900 (exhaust and tyre fitting outlet) this sounds odd to me, has anyone else replaced an exhaust system and at what cost? :Aghast:

Maybe it's special order for that particular tyre and exhaust place due to the Accord 2.4 being relatively rare.

Try somewhere else or ask a dealer.

900 pounds is more like the entire exhaust assembly.

please have a look at this thread and tell me which parts you need your entire exhaust won't be shot!

IchibanAccord, I only had a quick look while it was on the hoist, but the mechanic pointed out a leak at the rear of the muffler drum on the right side at the back of the car and then pointed to the assembly at the left front of the car (looking from the tail) saying this whole lot had to be replaced. I didn't notice if there were two mufflers, left and right. Sorry I'm no mechanic!

The item you have highlighted is the right side exhaust assembly item 2 Honda part number 18030-SED-E01 maximum retail cost £483.47 so where has this price of £900 come from :Unknown:

Ring Holdcroft Honda our club affiliate and see if you can get a price drop you get free shipping thou!

if you going for genuine remember to order the gaskets too item 20 18 and item 33 two nuts which will break when you remove the existing exhaust. Addtionally inspect the exhaust rubber hangers too just in case they have perished or strecthed

Can the right rear muffler drum be replaced on its own and does it have a part no.? Only the drum has a leak.

The right muffler does not come on its own from Honda only the left one.

In all likelihood if you have pin holes on the muffler you will have some on the pipe too. You still can angle grind it off and put another aftermarket one if your budget is restricted.

Update: my garage welded a metal "bandage" over the leak - cost £78 plus VAT.
