    Hello! me again!

I have a weird noise coming from my driver side gearbox/wheel area, and I cannot work out what is the issue- does anybody recognize these problems?

When the car is coasting (not accelerating/braking) then there is a pulsating noise coming from what sounds like the wheel. This gets louder and faster the faster I am coasting, and putting the car into neutral does not effect the noise either.

When traveling at a very slow speed (walking pace), this pulsating noise turns into more of a clunking noise.

I thought it could either be a CV Joint needing replaced or the Bearing in the gearbox.
    Any Thoughts?

    Thank you!
    Ross

Maybe, but wouldn't that mean there was a noise all the time?

My bet would be on driveshaft too or suspension part. Doubt it is a gerabox issue.

If i rest my foot on the pedal the sound gets quieter, but if pressure is applied the sound goes

Sounds like it's coming from brakes, I'd check those out first.

So I had a look at my brakes like you suggested, took the pads out and put them back as they were ok, and somehow this managed to stop the noise! Thanks for your help @SpeedyGee !
I also found out the car has snow tyres on! Let's hope it snows!

I assume you mean the tyres? Just went and looked and they are all different! Ahh!
They are FR: Bridgestone Blizzak LM-30 (snow treaded)
FL: pneumant Wintec PN150 (snow treaded)
RR: Toyo Z Sport Tuned 60
    RL: GoodRide H600

If i remember correctly it had 2 new Front tyres in July!

Ah that's a shame, they should at least be the same make/model on the same axle, so same of the front and same on the back.

Mixing different tyres all the way round is recipe for disaster.

It's odd that it had two new tyres in July, you would expect it have the same on the fronts then.
