Hello, My names Mike and I'm from Ipswich in Suffolk, I own a 1976 Civic 1200 Deluxe.

I've had it just over a year now and it's been great fun to own. I'll post some more photos and the story behind it in the garage section in a bit.

    Thanks!

Evening Mike, and welcome to HK. Your 1st Generation truly is in fantastic condition, was great meeting her over the weekend - can't believe she still has the original tax disc!

Thanks! Sadly that's a replica disc that I recently bought! I have the original dealers from when it was first taxed though as I've filled it in from that.

Sorry I never got to speak much to everyone, to be honest I didn't really know that many people there and didn't really know what to say!

Thanks everyone! I've uploaded a load of photos of it earlier on here, it's come a long way since it bought it, when I first got it some it would hardly run, the clutch was going and it was quite musty smelling from being in a garage for so many years, I've now fitted a new clutch, cambelt, brakes, new tyres, rebuilt the carb as well as a good clean and a couple of bits of bodywork repair.

I took it to Norfolk for a long weekend a few months back and it was ace and it was also in last month's Classics Monthly magazine, I would upload a photo but I can't work out how to do it on the tapatalk app at the moment.

Sounds like she's had quite the restoration trip already, it's good to see the fruits of your labour so to speak. Kudos on the magazine feature.

What plans are in the works for her future?

I'm not sure at the moment, part of me is considering selling it as I really need the money back after restoring my 3rd Generation Cortina last winter but the other half of me loves the car and has come quite attached to it, I'm worried that if I did sell it it will end up with an Acclaim engine and modified which would be a real shame I think.

I agree with your concern, the problem is too many people are justifying modifying the classic cars, whereas it's not a huge issue if you keep all the original parts and it's reversible, if you're permanently changing the cars, that's one less original Honda left on the roads.
