Looking to replace the nearside headlamp on my 2004 Civic Type-S as it's all foggy and glazed

I tried the toothpaste trick, but it didn't seem to help much. Maybe I just didn't scrub hard enough (I just used a wet lint free cloth and applied a liberal amount of toothpaste to the headlamp, buffed it a fair amount and waited 15 minutes for it to dry and then rinsed)

As you can see, it looks quite scratched actually. Maybe someone overdid it trying to use toothpaste / something else ? It was like this before I tried the toothpaste buffing trick.

Thanks. Strangely, the link you posted does not show up in Chrome browser. I had to load this page in IE to see your link. I'll order one of those and give it a try.

That's odd seeing as used Chrome to paste the link!

Nonetheless, take your time when you do it. I took well over an hour, if you follow the instructions it will be perfect.

Cheers. is a normal 18v Cordless drill powerful enough ?

Yup more than enough, battery life is going to be more of an issue depending on the battery life of your drill as it has to be on full power for nearly 45 minutes. I had to do one headlamp at a time (I have a cheap B+D 12v drill though).

Be careful using a cordless you don't want the pad spinning too fast, I would think you probably set it to low speed.

Those headlights should come back up perfect after a good buff, Roger

Be very careful by the painted surfaces of the wing and bumper.

The 3M Headlight Restoration Kit arrived today, and to be honest, I doubted my 'technical ability' to do a proper job as well as the effectiveness of the kit. The results blew me away. See my post here for before and after pictures.

Can someone help me with how I can change this topic to not be 'Wanted' anymore ? I can't seem to find the option to change it.

Changed and moved to 7th Generation Civic section.

Good to hear you had success with the scrubbing the headlights.
