Found this earlier - gets 8 MPG and is apparently a stock K20 engine with a supercharger slapped onto it. It sounds nice I must say although not sure why he initially calls it a 1.4

Guess it's a bottom mount kit that loses air con, no other way to shoe horn a C38 in there. Quick though!

Just realised he said it was a C30-94, not a C38, pretty impressive figures for that charger.

That's a hell of a lot of power being forced on stock internals. Looks insanely fast in the vids.

Would have thought upgraded valve springs were a good idea, but just rehashing what i read elsewhere, no expert.

Folks say it is all about a good tune, one of the US tuners (D Rob i think) has been making 700 HP to the wheels on a stock K20 block for over a year, pretty exceptional stuff!

Im amazed the fuel injectors stand up to the demand which is more than twice the stock car, and the gearbox doesnt shred itself. Nice engineering Honda

True, surely bigger than 310's, guess you don't need to open it up for that though, unless i'm totally wrong (normally the case lol)

    Agreed!
It's a fact that Honda boxes of this era were made out cheese. If he has put a LSD in there then maybe there are some undeclared mods in the box too along with some in the engine.

If it's me being a moron that's totally normal, don't worry.

As for the car, a stock block with the progressive nature of Rotrex power seems believable, taking off cam covers to upgrade springs maybe does not count as opening the engine to some.
Not sure about the fuel rail, does not look entirely stock to my crap eyes, would you need a return on such a setup?

The K series boxes are a little hardier, though i hear 300-350hp to the wheels is about the limit.

It is non stock Fuel Rail and he does have a return with a inline regulator (follow the pipe coming off the left hand side of the fuel rail), so he will be running beefier injectors.

Tbf, he does say that the engine itself hasnt been opened - is it possible to get that kind of power from a stock k20 internals @SpeedyGee ?

Maybe. But I think your pushing your luck with that sort of power.

A recurrent theme here is "late emerging torque curve". Maybe because of this delay the engine can handle big boost with mostly stock internals.

Think you got it Legendary. Less strain on things, was looking into one of the twin screw charger kits out there, but bet an instant horizontal torque response is pretty taxing for our drive trains.

The bottom end is decently strong, Areas of concern would be, chain/tensioner and valve train.
