Hi guys when I open the tailgate on my tourer the interior boot light flashes on for a moment at the point of opening then stays off.guessing there is a switch somewhere but can't seewhere it is. Does this sound like a dodgy switch? Any ideas where it is as for the life of me I cannot find it. Thanks

Have you got LEDs or the normal tungsten bulbs?

just check the switch on the light is on the off position and not half way been on and and off. Try that.

yeah tried that at the weekend, both in the on position. But tried in both positions just to be sure.

When I open the boot the lights illuminate for a split second and then go off and stay off.
I am wondering if there is release switch for the boot somewhere that isn't working properly?
But can't seem to see anything anywhere.

help, its dark and I can't see in the boot.. LOL

Are both lights in the cargo space doing this ? Here is the diagram for the circuit.

Check if the outer handle on the tailgate is not jammed and its free?

Cheers for the diagram just what I needed
I think it might be something in the closer unit then in that case as it looks like the light is activated from it.
I haven't had chance to look but will have a look this week hopefully.

    Aha
Had a look at lunch time, gave the tailgate outer handle a dam good wiggle and its sorted it. Guess the handle gets full of road crud and gunk's it up, seems ok now, thanks

Give it a proper shot of WD40 on the hinges its prone to seize up with RTF and shyte.
