My (Sept.2010) CR-V still has the original battery. Should I be worried !?
It still performs great, but I'm concerned about its age as in my experience, modern batteries tend to expire abruptly.

If it's cranking fine I would leave it for now.

Perhaps change when the weather starts to get cold, so you have nice fresh battery to get you through the winter.

I'd buy jump leads as a mitigation and wait until the battery actually fails. HH will delivery the next day!

    I agree with both @SpeedyGee and @Zebster
No need to rush into changing it yet, but certainly worth getting the next one from HH when you do replace it.

Is your CR-V diesel or petrol?
It is a good idea to add her to the Club Garage so we know for next time.

    It's petrol.
Just had a look at the battery ( I was trying to find the engine No.( without success!)). There's an indicator on it and it's showing Green, so it should be O.K - if they're reliable!

Sounds like it's pretty healthy at the moment.

Although this is for the diesel CR-V, the principle is the same:

    Decipher your VIN

Found an expensive way to solve the problem!
I've just ordered the new CR-V 1.6 Diesel Automatic. It's an SE with The SatNav added. It'll be about 3 weeks before delivery.
I'll have to migrate to the 4th Generation threads ...........

If your worried, take the car to a car battery specialist (not Halfords or Kwik Fit!)

They can put a digital battery tester on the battery and it will tell you the health of your battery in a few seconds.
