Trying to sell a Category B write off as a perfectly fine for use on the road. Category B is scrap only isn't it?

Yep, this is from the RAC web site - Category B: body shell should be crushed. Signifies extensive damage, although some parts are salvageable. Should never re-appear on road.

Ebay at it's best again lol

Did a quick car check - the vehicle is currently SORN'd and its MOT has expired.

You shouldn't be able to get an MOT on a Cat B car. In fact you shouldn't be able to apply for a log book.

Then again the chap is claiming there is no accident damage on the car, so was it a clerical error by some insurance company ? You can't get a VIC check for a Cat B car either.
    All rather bizarre !

Why would anyone buy a car without papers anyway ?

Seems very suspicious indeed! I had alarm bells ringing when I read a 2012 car had three previous owners! Not always a reason to worry but it does arouse suspicions why a 2 year old car has had 3 owners.

There could of course be a perfectly reasonable explanation for 3 owners in such a short time - ex dealer demonstrator, then first owner might have had to give up driving for medical reasons, second owner gets made redundant so has to sell car....
