    Guys,

Did this mod a while ago but thought someone else may want to do it. I ordered an auto folding mirror kit of the net and fitted to my Accord to automatically fold the mirrors on locking and unfold on the second press on the unlock button.

I never took pictures through the entire install and its been a while but I'm sure I can guide you through.

First order one of these from the below details:

SimplyCoolShop.com [???] - SMC simplycool mirror control, Safe Entry, Cruise Control, Wall Sticker, Home Decoration, Notebook Sticker

    Contact - Kittitat D

    Email - contact@simplycoolshop.com

Item - SMC 8th Generation Honda Accord.

Cost - $53 including shipping. So approx £35.

Really easy to deal with and they send you a tracking no. For the item.

    So follow instructions:

    IMG01270-20120218-2031.
    IMG01271-20120218-2031.
    IMG01272-20120218-2031.
    IMG01273-20120218-2032.
    IMG01274-20120218-2032.
    IMG01275-20120218-2032.

Remove door skin and locate the wiring plugs on the back of the drivers window switch, mirror control switch and central locking plug.

    IMG01266-20120218-1444.
    IMG01267-20120218-1516.

You will see 4th pic (door lock plug) rather than splice the loom I found it easier to go straight to the plug. This is where the wire colour is different.

The instructions say 2.1 light green is + door unlocking but I found after a little test with meter that the black is the right wire as there is no light green.

I didn't manage to get pictures of the wiring plug for the mirrors, but if you remove the door skin completely it makes it real easy to get to.

Finally, feed wires through the door loom and into the car, under the dash and into the passenger door. If you have a plastic flex rod you can cheat here and not bother taking the passenger door trim off. Pop out the passenger window switch, remove plug from the switch. With a plastic rod, feed this through the door until reaching the wiring breach through the door. Tape your cables to the rod and pull up to the switch. Connect as instructed.

When cutting the 2 wires, you can tape off the unused ends and push them back into the connector.

    Now test and enjoy.

Well, I may sell mine soon as it looks inevitable that the Accord will part in February....

Its on my list of cars. Test drove both 3rd Generation an 4th Generation and found the I-DTEC much more responsive in the 3rd Generation. Seems like the 4th has been restrained to keep emissions low.

I think i will avoid another honda auto, there rubbish. The auto box is the 2nd reason behind moving the Accord on.

I assume you need foldable mirrors in the first place and this mod just adds the auto close on arming and disarming the car alarm.

Already have power-folding mirrors my friend, Facelift goodies. They're operated by a button that replaced the heated mirror button (they heat automatically now in tandem with the rear windscreen).
