    Hi
Anyone have a photo of where the dipstick is for the automatic gearbox on a 2006 Honda Accord (petrol).
I want to check the automatic gearbox fluid level.

And what is the correct procedure for checking the oil level?

    Thanks

I don't have an auto so can't answer for sure but roughly it will be under the air piping that connects the air filter box to the throttle body, just in front of the battery.

The dip stick will have a yellow hook which you can pull out.

You need to check the level after you have fully warmed (but switched off) the engine.

I found it a bit difficult to check the automatic gearbox oil.
When it's all warmed up, there seems oil in most places on the dipstick.
I guess the true reading is whether there is oil in the 2 small holes on the dipstick.

Anyone know how much oil needs to be added to bring the level up from the bottom hole to the top hole on the dipstick?

    Thanks

Once you got the car up to temperature, switch it off for ten mins and then church the level. It should have settled by then. If you still can't read it becsuse there's oil all over the dipstick then the gearbox is probably overfilled.
