    Hi,

    Just a quick question.

I had some castrol edge 0w-30 which says ACEA A3/B3/B4 which is what the handbook recommends.

I bought some more from ECP and (Castrol Edge 0w-30) but it only says ACEA c2,c3. API SM/CF; VW 502 00/ 505 00; BMW Longlife-04. MB Approved 229.31/229.51.

Will this be ok to use on my honda diesel 2007?

    Thanks.

    Cheers dude.

Thanks for the reply - just wanted to make sure before I filled her up.

According the castrol website my car take 0w-30 castrol edge - looks like the new version has dropped the A3/B3 markings and just says C2/C3.

    Cheers!

    Update,

Just had a call back from Castrol (called them earlier prior to posting on here) - they have confirmed the above. basically the C2/C3 rating means is compatible for cars with DPF Filter and will also work with non DPF Filter ones too.

yup they are right DPF oil is expensive so to reduce your outlay you can chose a non low sap oil.

Have a look at opieoils, lubetech or at Holdcroft Honda genuine oil offerings.

    Hi Guys,

I got my Castrol Edge 0w 30 from eurocarparts with a filter for about £54 last month with delivery.

They had a 30% discount code online.

Guys, most of the motors factors around me sell castrol Edge 0w30 but it only comes in a 4 litre container . Is this enough for an oil change? I thought it tool about 5.9litres? This would make it quite an expensive oil and filter change?. The 4 litre container was 58 euro alone.

Oh forgot to say, £54 that was for 8 litres.

You will definitely need 6 litres for an oil service.

I think even with shipping costs to Ireland , Lubetech works out a hell of a lot cheaper when you buy a drum.

I would say weigh up all the options from all the vendors before you buy.

i.e bulk oil deal from Lubetech,or genuine oil deals from HH with genuine oil filters or specialist oil deals from opie. :Hey:
