Hope someone here can help me.

Yesterday I finally got rid of all my Samsung bloatware on my S4 and installed CM11. Everything seems OK except all the old folders from my old installed apps seem to remain behind despite wiping prior to CM11 installation. This uses a lot of space in my internal space.

Anyone know whats the easiest way to get rid of all this junk?

When changing the kernel and flashing new ROMs, in general it is best practice to do a full system wipe unless it's an incremental update to an existing ROM. I'd recommend swiping the device completely then reinstall CM. Google Play will automatically redownload all your apps again once you boot up, you will of course lose messages and app data that isn't already backed up, there's a few different apps out there which can port that, things like Titanium Backup.

Did you use the simple CM installer, or flash the ROM manually from Clockwork Mod/Recovery? Are you rooted?

@DeviateDefiant, I did a factory reset and wipe though, but it left behind all the app data.

    Dammit!

    Phone is much faster though.

Factory reset is just putting the device back to stock software and settings, not formatting completely and starting afresh  If you're not already, you want to root, install Clockwork MOD Recovery, then wipe the device from there, install the ROM from a ZIP file, then flash the latest Google Apps version.

For Samsung devices Odin is the quick go-to for simple rooting/flashing a custom recovery.

@DeviateDefiant yeah I knew that but was sure I asked it to wipe and reset at same time.

I've got clockwork mod installed already and I installed CM11 via side mount then gapps thereafter.

From what I've been reading, the problem folder is /data/log as the system dumps all sorts of mince I there, but I need root for that.

    Cheers mate.

Odin will grant you root, then I'd just run a full wipe from CWM and reflash the ROM/GApps

I've just used root checker and apparently I already have root access. Odd.

CyanogenMod installer might have rooted the device.

Sorted it mate. Did a factory reset and it wiped all the unwanted data.

    Thanks for your help.
