Real-world MPG: estate cars that beat 54mpg - What Car?

Honda Civic is 2nd for some reason even though the difference between claimed and real MPG was 72.4 vs 61.5mpg and they say "In 1.6-litre I-DTEC form, it's also the most economical estate car we've tested. yet somehow Seat Leon is #1 for achieving 61.5mpg (same as Civic) against a claimed MPG of 85.6!?

Why do the motoring press love VAG so much?

Awful build quality of dull and drab looking cars.

They love them so much that the most economical estate with lower discrepancy in real vs claimed MPG DIDN'T come first!

I suppose road tests don't show the horrendous issues that VW cars have after 3 years and 60K miles of real life driving.
