    Hello guys,

I managed to install HDS on my laptop and did a whole diagnosis to my car I had several DTC's most of them were related to low voltage.
Once I cleared all of them including the ABS/VSC ones. I then had a yellow triangle and emphasis mark on the dash.
Apparently this means the VSC is off. I have tried to put it back on with the ON/OFF button to non avail.
HDS says when entering the menu of the ABS that the unit will stop functioning over 30MPH, and this is when I get plethora of lights VSC/CMBS coming on the dash. When I restart the engine the only light on is the little yellow triangle with nothing else on.

Apparently when clearing the code of the ABS/VSC it is meants to reset the VSC callibration as well. However when I press to clear the codes it says DTC clear fail.
It does clear the codes but I assume it stops before the calibration?

Any suggestions? I have tried removing the battery but it did not help :Frown:
Is maybe my HDS an old version?

Anyone close by with HDS we can plug in and check?

    Cheers
    Vasilis.

Not sure if this will help me sort the problem.
From what I understand I need to get the VSA Logic Sensor to the Neutral Position.

I copied the below from another forum but this is for the Acura TSX (Which I think is the Accord) should I try those you think?

    RESOLUTION:

But few days ago I have fixed the problem myself without Dealer Scanner!
First of all you need to clear ABS errors (that is the main problem why i have failed earlier).

    1) Jump pins 4 and 9.
    2) Press and hold the brake pedal and switch on the ignition.
    3) Wait for the ABS light to turn off and then remove your foot from the brake pedal.
    4) Wait for the ABS light to turn on, then press and hold the brake pedal again.
    5) ABS light should turn off, then remove your foot from the brake pedal.
    6) Wait for two flashes of ABS light. If it flashes it means that errors are erased.

Check the errors (with the pins jumped) - just turn the ignition on, if ABS light does not flash, no errors are in memory.

    Now the main part.

    VSA neutral position setting

Do not touch the brake pedal anymore.

    1) Jump pin 9 to chassis ground (I have used a bolt on a door hinge).
    2) Turn the ignition on, after ABS light turns off, quickly press the "VSA off" button.
    3) After ABS light turns on again, quickly press the "VSA off" button.
    4) Now shoud be a lot of different blinks and fashes and all lights ABS, VSA and triangle should turn off. The problem's solved.
    5) Open the beer bottle!

Really I'm not sure what was the real problem of the VSA error but I have some thoughts on this situation.

After I disconnected the navi+cd changer (HVAC if i remember correctly), I left the car for a while. Then after some time I have started the engine without HVAC unit and there was a triangle light. After I drove the car, the VSA light turned on. Maybe HVAC (navy+audio unit) disconnection is just a coincidence. Because few weeks before I had a problem with 1 tire. I hit the front wheel on a turn. I've driven a few km on a low tire (I just missed that part). After I changed to a spare wheel, I have driven to a garage. I am not sure if i pressed "VSA OFF" button, but for sure when I have driven to a garage VSA or triangle lights were not turned on. After this event i have changed four wheels but not tires and have driven about 100-150 km's also. I found that toe-in is lost, I went to a mechanic who fixed it, and after some time I disconnected HVAC unit.... After I have seen a triangle, I have tried to clear errors by removing battery but it did not help, after this I checked the manual, but there was info only about scanner ;(

Did you try clearing the VSA issue with ignition on or engine running. Think it needs ignition on. Although the instructions on screen would have told you what to do.

I did go to the VSA section in the HDS however tere is no reset option. It mentions that cars with VSA when clearing the faults it automatically resets it self.
However half way clearing the codes for the VSA it comes back with error, and sometimes the HDS crashes :Frown: ...
I will try installing it on another computer

I don't think it's called a Reset but "Neutral Position Memorisation"

Well my HDS did not have any calibration or reset menu in the VSA.
I took it to a local shop where they are looking into one of our other cars the BMW 735 E38. And they had their diagnostic tool, they managed to reset the VSA but as soon the VSA was reset the LKAS came on and the fault was the steering angle sensor was not setup/calibrated.
On the straight position it was reading 6 degrees. Those of who read the other post in the tools, and some insisted there is no option of calibration it was in there in that tool apparently. After the tracking I had done to the car the other day we had to plug in and do a reset to the steering angle sensor, as the Hunter machine indicated.
Anyhow the garage, have managed to make the center position of the steering wheel back to 0 degrees and now the steering is not acting funny anymore.
It might be an option only for the LKAS cars I guess? As the LKAS have electric steering and the non LKAS cars have hydralic steering.

Those are my findings and the conclustion to the problems. I now know NOT to touch the VSA/ABS module regarding clearing codes with my HDA! lol. As it causes a mess. My HDS version is 2.018

    Cheers
    Vasilis
