Is it possible to change to a normal clutch and flywheel on a diesel accord instead of fitting a new DMF and clutch.

    Cheers

    Tommy.

I've never heard of anyone doing this mod. The DMF is there to smooth out the diesel engine power delivery to the drive train during clutch engagement. I would imagine it wouldn't be much fun having no DMF and straight through clutch.

If your DMF needs replacing it's only a one time hit .. maybe best to take the hit.

Yeh I know but was just looking at options thanks.

How do you know if the DMF needs replaced,at the moment it's my clutch that's started to slip but unsure about the DMF.

You;d be experiencing juddering upon engagement if you had DMF issues.

When you remove it, there's some markings on the DMF, you twist the DMF and see how far the springs allow it to twist, if it's beyond what the markings show then the DMF is past its serviceable life. Also a visual inspection should reveal broken, damaged or loose springs.

Think there is some more info on checking the DMF on this site, have a search.

For that price you could go OEM DMF.

Didn't LUK manufacture the DMF for Honda?
