Just had a new clutch fitted, gearbox oil etc etc

Everything was all good till the other day it got stuck in gear and the pedal stayed down on the floor and had to lift it manually.

Any ideas guys what it could be.

    Thanks

Sounds to me like you lost hydraulic pressure in your CMC or CSC. What is the fluid level like? Gen 7's are known for having questionable CMC's.

Going to bleed the system at the weekend will check fluid too.

Can you get seal kits or does it have to be a new master cylinder and slave cylinder.

No idea if you can get seal kits, I personally just changed both anyway. Bleed the system out, check for leaks from pipes etc, and if that doesnt work, then I would look at your CMC initially.

yes mate - sorry, clutch master cylinder.

I would try to bleed your CMC first before looking at changing anything.

I only changed my slave cylinder as the chamber was cracked inside. (picture on my DIY if you are interested) Our gen 7s have a reputation for the CMC's misbehaving. Mine was creaking and cracking and I had to therefore change it. It was whilst trying to bleed it, I could not get a vacuum on it. This would explain why my bite point changed every time I pushed the peddle in. Now it is butter smooth after I have changed both.

I discuss this, and the parts I used in my DIY's

    Clutch Master Cylinder Installation

    Clutch Slave Cylinder Installation

It is the same part for the petrol versions as the diesels.
