Had my CR-V for a few years now and always been bad on fuel but really noticed it lately especially with the ever increasted cost of filling up, getting 200 miles on a full tank costing me around £60 so on city driving I calculated it's about 19mpg. I can't carry on like this as it's killing me in the pocket !!
    Help !!
Is it my driving, ? Is there a problem with the car ?

Hello and welcome to AOC , without looking at the car you can't say what wrong with it. When was it last serviced?

Serviced last in October and was not old of any issues regarding possible fuel leak etc...

What engine is it? What sort of journeys do you do? Has it always been the same or recently got worse?

    Hi Paul.
It;s a 2litre automatic, mainly journeys are local - obviously it does fair better on our long motorway driving where I may get 240-250 miles out the tank
to me it definately seems worse lately, to be sure not 100% what MPG I should be getting . ABout to go pump the tyres up incase that is a possible reason.

Get it put on a diagnostic machine, preferably at a Honda specialist place. A Honda specialist can ensure VTC and VTEC system are operating correctly.
Correctly functioning lambda sensor is important to achieving good fuel economy, again this should be picked up diagnostics.

Also have your brakes checked for correct operation to rule out a stuck brake caliper.

As mentioned previously ensure that servicing as been carried out.

Another possibility but perhaps less likely is a blocked exhaust system.
