Search found nothing, but this may be a common one.
Having had alternator replacement, all seems fine except the Cruise Control doesn't switch on, and the "auto" bit of the driver's door mirror up/down doesn't work.
If there's anything else not working I haven't found it yet.
Where can I find a wiring diagram? I probably should have searched on "Wiring Diagram"... I'll come back if I find one.

Auto window up and down is something that has to be enabled by a method of holding switch or something in a particular order. Quite simple as far as I can remember. Have a search on the forum the process is similar to that of Accord.

    Update: here is the method

    1. Start the engine. Push down and hold the driver’s window switch until the window is fully open.

    2. Pull and hold the driver’s window switch to close the window completely, then hold the switch for a second or two more.

Window Auto Function (Body, Paint & Styling - )

I wouldn't know about cruise so perhaps @Ichiban would be the best person to answer that.

Way to arry, you're a leg end. It works. Never heard of that one and can't see why anyone should want it not working - there's a separate switch, which you don't have to use!

Tried holding the CC button for ages - no it doesn't burst into life...
No separate for for it that I can see.
Eveything I've tried still works - except the radio cos we haven't found the code yet, and the folding mirrors which have been stuck for years...

Cruise control stopping working is unlikely to be related to the battery change.

For the cruise control, find a safe road and try putting your foot under the brake pedal and pull it upwards to see if the cruise control then engages.
Repeat with the clutch pedal, pull it upwards by put your left foot behind it and see if the cruise control engages.

If either of these allows the the cruise control to engage, then you know which pedal needs adjusting.

I'll try that, but the little light set into the switch isn't coming on. I think it did before even if the CC wasn't engaged.

I got some info before from Honda Maris. Took half my paid hour to get it to work. Annoying as hell.
I guess they'd have a wiring diagram. Anywhere else? Was there a Haynes manual for this model?

I don't know why the CC isn't working, but if battery disconnection caused it to stop working then maybe disconnecting the battery again may reset the problem and restore the CC system (I know it's a long shot, but you never know).

Haynes don't produce Honda manuals, but Honda themselves produce a hugely expensive electronic (DVD) service manual that includes all wiring diagrams. Knock off copies of these are sometimes available on eBay, but we're not allowed to recommend suppliers.

Did these problems begin immediately the alternator was replaced? If so, then whoever did the work may have disturbed a wiring connector somewhere? If you paid for the work to be done then I'd suggest making a complaint.

It does "sound" like a fuse but I can't find one!
To be honest I don't remember when I last used CC. I know it wasn't ON when the battery first went flat

The guy who did the repair is dead honest (major plus point) charges me quite reasonably ( middling plus point) but isn't a Honda specialist (two out of three ain't bad).
I have told him. I believe he has systems to look up wiring, but if not I'll ask the Honda main agent, I've found them slightly helpful in the past. I expect they'd tell me if there's a fuse and where it is.
The battery went flat on a motorway - (radio codes needed resetting for that)
then I fitted a new battery (because it was 10 years old) & didn't bother to hold the voltage up - no point
then the alternator was changed, ditto.
So the battery has been "off" three times.

I'm hoping, but I doubt there's a likely CC connector to have been dislodged, near the alternator..

If I find a wiring diagram I'll show it. Copyright laws permit use of small parts of a work, for educational purposes..

There is a Haynes manual for the 2nd Generation I have one, I think there was someone on here trying to give one away a while back. If I have some spare time I will have a look at the Cruise control you do know that there is an on/off switch on the right of the dash.

Thanks Davej5. Yes that's one one with the small light which doesn't come on. The VSA switch, which is "the upper half" , does work - at least it puts the dash warning light on!

HIi I had a look at the Haynes but it does not show any of the cruise control. I expect it is mostly built in to the engine management so you may need to get an official wiring diagram that shows all the wiring.
