This is a common irritant in the CVT equipped Jazz and its pretty straight forward to fix.

    The Fault description
The owners will see and feel Intermittent cutting out with Immobiliser light flashing, MIL lamp not on or very dim. And when you connect the HIM or MVCI you will see and no communication with the PGM-FI system using HDS, however car will restart if left for a short period of time.

    The Fix
Try disconnecting the CVT speed sensors (Item 8) and recheck, if the car now starts and HDS now communicates then replace the affected sensor as it has an internal short circuit.
