    You need to use proper 2k (2 part) lacquer. Anything else will look horrific. don't use stuff from Halfords or any of those places, get the proper professional stuff in a can

    Yeah, I was using halfords laquer to be fair. They are already in getting done now so it's a bit late but I need to clean my door mirrors up so I will bear that in mind next time I'm painting. Love your thread.

    Yeah lacquer from those sorts of places are not exactly the best quality and are only 1k in quality which is pretty poor. Fine for little projects, useless against cars which are exposed to the elements. 1k is useless against the elements. 2k can also be polished up beautifully, whereas 1k can't be. 2k however is absolutely lethal to your lungs, definetely one of those "do not inhale" warnings you need to take seriously. The nozzles on the cans from the high street stores also give a poor spray pattern in my experience.
