Waited until Halloween and then buried it in the nearest pet cemetery under a full moon? I mean, nothing BAD could happen, right...

Sorry to drag this out....but she took it home and put it in her freezer, then put some signs up in the village saying she has their cat!

Now image you went round to collect it only to be told it's dead and in the freezer!

Thought you were going to say she stopped and tried to give it the kiss of life and as it didn't respond she dialled 999 for an ambulance.
In the freezer ??? What would she have done if she found a dead person take it home and put it in her bath and fill it with ICE!!!

I've just got up, getting ready to go to Castle Combe, and I read this LOL

You are all actually being very unfair.

There are 3 possibilities when seeing a dead pet in the road
    1. leave it and let if get chewed up and flattened, and hope that the owner, who may be a child, never sees it like that
    2. go back and move it to the side of the road or onto the edge of the pavement, so that if the owner is looking, they will find it, but the problem with that is that a fox may find it and take it away, and so if the owner is searching for the pet, they will never know what happened to it NB foxes do normally attempt to catch pets, unless the pet is injured or dead.
    3. as 2, but contact the council and hope that they come and remove it before a fox does

When the council collects a dead pet, they store it in a carrier bag in a freezer. If the animal is micro-chipped they attempt to find the owner. If it is not micro-chipped and no-one contacts them about it, after about 4 to 8 weeks it gets incinerated.

What the lass has done is actually commendable, she has saved the council the effort, and furthermore made the effort herself to advertise the fact that the pet has been found. If I had a pet that went missing, and it had been run over and someone did what she has done, I would be thankful that I could collect it and inter it.

Think the world is going mad, just reading on Facebook that someone I know had a vasectomy this week but against doctors orders is going to run the great north run tomorrow! That's going to hurt (I know from experience)

I had one years ago and I remember that the doctors assistant was a really good looking nurse with a rather nice chest. I remember virtually praying that the little fella behaved himself whilst she was sorting stuff out down there and doing the stitches etc.
