Great videos - I need to rebuild another car - there is something so theraputic and relaxing about it
nice clip cj
the sad thing about it is a lot of these great old beasts bare very few of their original parts
as was the original chitty chitty bang bang" babs" the famous landspeed record holder which killed its driver parry thomas on the pendine sands the car was then buried in the sand where it ceashed in 1827 0nly to be dug up and restored 42 years later
tell me how much of that was saveable
heres a bit of footage from brookland 2007
the sad thing about it is its all about the money you have a hand full of original bits from a famous car like a speedo a gearlever a bonnet hinge and half a wing hey presto you remake the rest and youve got the oringinal car?? worth a bloody fortune
I think I'd run if I saw that thing coming towards me.
Me too that beast is a scary car.
Thats pretty insane, its also pretty insane to think people actually drove around in these things? Imagine driving that in those tiny Italian streets.
I think it was just build for speed it never built for the mass production.. IIRC it was built to break the land speed record way back then.
Ahh I see, that makes sense then.
although the car is of no real historic value ,the engine is out of a pt boat and the chassis is from a 1930,s 8 ltr bentley the car was finished in 2010 an interesting twist on a modern day built "special"
