    A little optimistic I think.

I'd advertise at £3K and take something near £2700 having looked at prices on ebay.

Use this link and go through the route of pretending you want sell your car (entering reg. No. and mileage). You'll then get an estimate of what to expect when selling privately.

It suggested that my Accord would get £1300, which I think is a little optimistic?

Depending on spec, coniditon, mileage etc, its worth around £2.5-8k.

Why sell it though after putting all that work into and money too? I bet you will end up buying another car after a few months then end up spending more money in the long run, the Civic's are hardly expensive to run.

Up to £8k for a 10 year old Civic??? It seems unlikely!

    Were some of them gold-plated?

lol I meant £2.5-2.8k. I would advertise as 2.8k, as people will negotiate so you can sell it for like 2.6 or 2.7k.

That's still twice as much as my Accord!

Your Accord is going to be worth £1.7/8k I would imagine, you got a lot of miles on it!

165k miles, so a fair few! Autotrader suggested £1.3k, which is a little more than I expected.

Whatcar valuation is saying 1.8k, although I guessed some of the criteria.

I don't know about the car you are selling but similar specs are going for £3.5K from traders.

I bought mine for about £3,000 just over a year ago, and it's a 2.0 Type-S with VSA, and had about 80,000 miles on it at the time, so I'd say £2,500 to £2,800 would be about the best you could hope to get for yours.

I was hoping to get more for it, mileage is 47k and it's an automatic gearbox, full service history with Honda. Thought it would be worth at least £4k, someone will be getting a bargain.

I think you can get 3k for it then, but it might be a slow sale. 4k will be dreamland, you can pick up 8th Generation Civic for that sort of money.

I still think you should try and keep it if possible as you got a real nice motor.

i want to keep it but need the money, i heard that a white Civic is rare, so that why i thought it should be worth more, when people see it they say its rare to see a white Civic like mine.

It probably won't increase the value, more like make the decision between your car and another more favourable.

I personally would be put off by white but others would see it as a brucey bonus. It's all about finding the right buyer.

Maybe it's rare because it wasn't very popular?

Do they? Can't say I've noticed white being particularly popular.
