Normally for an antenna looking thing out of the front bumper for parking. Do you have a button looking thing on the front bumper? It might have been disconnected at some point.

That's an after market switch. Honda would never have anything like that.

@joseph spragg, are you referring to switch 1 or 2?

Switch 1 is as @jd1959 has stated.
Switch 2, (which is what I thought you meant) is after market.

Clears up a mystery for me too, was looking at JDM Civic models and some have the "pole" (and corresponding button which i could not identify from the pics on auction sites) Thanks!

Could easily be changed to A HOLE. Totally different kettle of fish then!

I have never seen "A POLE switch" on any Honda ever, I am very intrigued if this a genuine one?

I believe they are indeed genuine Honda accessories FS : Civic 1992-1995 EG6 EG9 Parking Pole Kit *Rare & BNIB NOS* - Honda-Tech You see a few for sale now and again with genuine accessories box and instructions. I haven't seen them offered in the last few years on the Honda .jp site probably with the increased use of parking sensors.

I wonder if the bumper was changed at some point or mast removed and the hole filled and sprayed over. The parking pole definitely wasn't to everyone's taste. There are some around occasionally on some of the Japanese auction sites or even on ebay now and again if its a feature you want to add back to the car. Otherwise its just as good as a mystery button and conversation starter .
