Hello all, can anyone tell me what the gear shift thread size is for a 2002 accord sport. Mine is a bit tatty and i'd like to replace it. Any suggestions as to where to get one would be welcome too

    Many thanks

    Matt

It's M10 x 1.5 pitch, which means they should be interchangeable with most Honda gear knobs. Anything from the later Accords or Civics, the S2000, Integra Type-R (DC5), CR-Z etc.

Welcome to the club Matt, open an introduction thread and show us your ride

Cheers Leo, that really helps. I'll get some photos up soon. First i've got to fit a rear washer pump and get the bumper back on nicely.

    Hey Jamie, how's it going?

I'll warn everyone now that i'm a novice mechanic but i want to learn how to do stuff so i may end up pestering people for advice if/when it all gors horribly wrong. Apologies in advance

I added some parts diagrams for another member here on the rear washer jets, hope it comes in handy

Feel free to pester away my friend, when I brought my first '03 Accord I hadn't even changed oil before - I'm now heavily into the modifying side of things, pretty much solely from the club

I started off with nil knowledge, with the help of the guys here I've been able to do a fair bit (more to do with electrical) but I plan on changing spark plugs and oil soon - stick around for sure

What style do you like @matt park? You after a polished metal finish, black painted, leather? This is mine:

I quite like the skunk2 ones. I should get a polished silver one like the original one with the accord sport but there are quite a few black ones on ebay. I'll try and get one of them i reckon

They're quite popular, @Zoran is running a black Skunk 2 in his 8th Generation:

Believe he sorted the gaiter out afterwards but can't find a shot of it.

They're all fake bud, apart from the black one Zoran has.

I got a fake as a gift from a supplier, it was still weighty but the colour came off after 3 months and it got too hot in direct sunlight. Still looks pretty good though.

For the record, 95% of the Mugen ones you find on eBay are fake too. Genuine Mugen tend to be around £120-150, believe I paid £50 for mine second hand.

I got the Skunk2 knob on my 6th Generation, fantastic knob, really nice and weighty and makes the gear change feel 'better', the original ones are a brushed gunmetal alu finish, most of the ones on ebay are fakes so watch out thats why they are cheaper, only buy from approved supplier, got mine from Tegiwa IIRC.
