Getting the right oil for gearboxes, diffs and transfer boxes can be tricky, so please ask here if there is any information that you need.

To help us to give the most accurate advice possible we do need some information about your car. e.g.
    Make:
    Model:
    Year:
    Manual/Auto:
    Performance Modifications:
Driving style: (road / off-road / track etc.)
Any other information that may be relevant: e.g. approx BHP if modified, any transmission problems
What recommendation are you looking for? Gearbox, diffs, limited slip diffs, transfer boxes etc

Any oil we recommend is available to buy from us (if you would like to) for delivery throughout the UK and many destinations Worldwide. We offer a really extensive range of oils and lubricants from 11 major oil manufacturers at prices much lower than the high street and main dealers. We stock oils and fluids that meet pretty much all manufacturers and international specifications. Our brands include, Silkolene, Fuchs, Gulf, Castrol, Motul, Mobil, Millers Oils, Shell, Valvoline, Amsoil and Redline.

Plus, as the Club is a member of our club discount scheme you can get discounts of at least 10% across our entire range.

To redeem your 10% club discount simply use the following club discount code at the checkout.

    AOCUK

Once the code is added at the checkout you will then receive your extra 10% club discount. However this discount code cannot be used in conjunction with other offer codes, BUT the code can be used in conjunction with any of our offers on this page HERE that do not require offer codes.

Any questions please ask here or contact us via email at sales@opiepoils.co.uk

Finally, if there are any products we don't stock and you have difficulty getting hold of elsewhere, let us know and we'll see if we can stock them.

We look forward to being of help!

    Cheers

I just had a look at the other thread. If you'd had the car for 5 years and done 50K miles, then I'd think it probably just needed an oil change, but it's only done a few miles. As it's so new, I'd approach Honda and see what they have to say, but if you get nowhere, an oil change might help it. The Amsoil MTF and Redline MTL are two good options at sorting out minor gearbox issues. I'd be careful under warranty though, the standard choice is the Honda MTFIII, so if there is potentially a problem, you want to maintain the warranty, so check with Honda if they will let you try the Amsoil or Redline.

    Cheers

    Thanks Tim,

just waiting for Honda to come back on my issue, they point blank have stated no aftermarket oil until this matter is looked at.

It makes sense for them to say no aftermarket oil, that way they know the gearbox won't have been affected by the oil if they need to have a look at it. Saying that, someone I spoke to a while back had a Honda (can't remember which one) with some sort of gearbox issue and the garage was happy for him to try some other oils to fix the problem. I have a feeling they might have tried many other fixes before they got to that point though.

    Cheers

    Tim

Tim would that Honda car be under manufacturers warranty ? As it can be an avenue I may want I explorer with Honda if they permit it. I rather have a quite gearbox using oil rather ripping apart a gearbox to be mended .

    Hi

I'm pretty sure it was under warranty as I was surprised that the dealership had said it was okay to use one of our oils. I don't know how much he hassled the dealership up to that point though, they may have agreed to anything to get him off their back. It was probably about 6 months ago, so I can't remember any details. If they try some things and they don't work, it could be worth suggesting the aftermarket oil.

    Cheers

    Tim
