    Guys.

Bit of general advice if anyone knows.

I'm wanting to get power into the garden for lighting, a water feature and for cutting grass etc. Does anyone have any experience of doing this. I know I'll need to get an electrician due to Part P and requiring building control notification but would like to get a few quotes and be able to ask for the same things each time.

    Any advice appreciated.

I did the same in my old house too. As long as the external wiring terminates in a standard plug and is not a permanent part of the house wiring you can do it yourself. I bought some heavy duty reinforced cable (very hard to even cut it to make a connection!) and buried it a couple of feet down under garden paths. I then brought it up to the surface to terminate in a weatherproof switch/socket to power the pond filter, pump and lights.
