Giving the car a much overdue deep clean yesterday and noticed that my dog crate has worn through the head lining where the tail gate motor lives.

Long term I'll need another lining but what are my options colour wise as the original light grey would look better black or darker grey?

    Thanks

    Ben

Can you post some pictures up of the damage?

    Not from my bed!

Is a slot / slit front to back in the bulge

Annoying more than mechanically a problem

I can't remember the last time I had a lie in - what with two incredibly over excited kids bouncing around everywhere

I can wake up at 6am easily enough... it just requires going to bed around 6pm the night before (because it takes me a few hrs to fall asleep... not because I need 12hrs sleep)

Gaff tape comes in all colours these days... have you tried some that matches the colour?

Failing that, you can get cargo nets/dog guards that fit to the seats on the tourer, I've got them fitted to mine.... never actually used them though.

I've got both the genuine dog guard and my dog crate which has worn through the lining but is much safer because it stops the dogs running out when you lift up the tailgate.

Thinking of using the guard again with a split boot liner and using the rear seats as a door way.

Still would like to know if I'm stuck with light grey or if I could swap it for black??

Any ideas on the alternative colours?

I would assume that all tourers (either facelift or PFL) have the same fittings, so it would just be a case of finding one.

Do you know what colours they came in?

Ah, misunderstood your question... Afraid I have no idea.

However, I have seen people recolour parcel shelves using some kind of spray... Makes me wonder if there's anything like that to work on a head liner.

Failing that, any reasonable upholsterer should be able to make one up in any colour you like... But would obviously cost more.

Need the whole thing tbh as mine is knackered

Would like black as this would look better and hide dirt n hair from the dogs more easily

You may be disappointed in trying to find one second hand. Breakers yards won't have taken very good care of a headlining. There delegate things that need some love and respect when removing. Something they don't have. I presume a price new would be out of the question. There are specialist vehicle apholsterers around. Leather tech in the Stoke-on-Trent area carry out repairs for us

    Cheers!

I'm not desperate at the moment with my dog crate in as it covers the damage it also created. If I run without it then the hole looks awful.

Would also help if my dogs didn't jump into every available piece of water going. ...

best case scenario, find an individual planning to scrap his/her Tourer. Then buy it from him/her. I once found a good deal from someone wanting to scrap his Accord, but due to my location, he could not hold the parts for me and scrapped it to a junkyard (for a cheap price i assume)
