I noticed the other day that my door mirrors were on and getting warm, is this normal or yet another electrical gremlin on my car??!!

the temperature was between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius on the drive home.

I'm not sure how they operate on the 6th gens, but the 7th gens have a button by the mirror controls.
8th gens come on when the rear screen heater is turned on.

Any 6th Generation owners able to help out here?

That's a good thing bud, heated wing mirrors mean no condensation etc

Oh and AFAIK the heaters are on 24/7

I thought they only came on during the rear demister operation. Some oik kicked one of my mirrors off last month and broke the spade connector, will need to try and solder as the heater element sure clears the raindrops fast from the mirrors.

As mentioned above, the heater elements work the moment the key is turned on. Very handy in winter though as no more scraping wingmirrors of ICE.
