I have owned an Accord Tourer (facelift model) since October 2014, I have been extremely surprised at the quality of the vehicle since owning. I have always owned european marques in the past (german and swedish), I wish I had discovered the Honda Accord sooner.

Hi Dirk, welcome to Honda Karma.

You hear that from a lot of new comers to Honda. The Accord is a fantastic car, much underrated though.

Pop your car in the Club Garage so we can all see her.

    Thanks Speedy & Nighthawk,

I will get some pictures sorted soon - but the rear bumper has been trollyed and backed into in a local supermarket car park, so I may wait until that's done before posting. I have been posting on another forum called TA for a few months, but wanted to expand my knowledge and enjoy your forum - I love the youtube videos - if these form part of your forum.

I particularly liked the thread called The Dog Thread, as you can probably gather, i have a German Shepherd dog.

I originally looked at an A6 Avant and V70 as my dual purpose transport, but went for the Accord based purely on the 7th Generation looks, feedback from owners and write ups at the Honest John car review website. Both the Audi and Volvo had a lot of possible trouble issues along with reliability woes listed on the Honest John website and associated Audi & Volvo forums.

I spent a little more than i would have liked, based on current (October 2014) prices, as I bought an approved used car from Brindley Honda in Cannock, so the piece of mind was there for the next 12 months and all previous service history was Honda, and will continue to be so.

I really don't have the time to do the servicing on the car, and besides, that's why there are garages in the first place, just like there are doctors - each performs their own specialism.

I know that many members enjoy the servicing or do so out of necessity, but it's not for me - bar the obvious bulb changes and small mods that don't need to much spanner work.

Thanks again for the welcome, I look forward to being part of the forum and contributing content.

Feel free to just pop her in the club garage as she is, warts and all, we enjoy seeing how cars are brought back to their former glory.

I look forward to seeing pictures of your German Shepherd. I used to have one as a kid, along with a golden labrador. The german shepherd was absolutely amazing, so intelligent and so protective. Amazing dogs, the only reason why I didnt get one was because of the kids. My german shepherd was a little overprotective.

The Accord is an excellent car with great build quality, it really is a shame Honda has discontinued it in Europe. I drove a company car to visit a supplier - Volkswagen golf the other week and can't really see why people love buying them. For a new car it creaked and rattled quite a bit - perhaps abuse from fellow salesman /work colleagues but the interior really does wear out quickly.

Welcome to Honda ownership and hope you enjoy the wealth of information on the forum

The project is almost there. I have sorted all the small niggles on the car now. Just the tyres left to sort out. Got a brand new set to go on but a mate of mine working at a kwik fit is on holiday. Other than that the car is at a point where I am really happy with it and everything on my list has been done. Theres always that urge to do more but being a daily driver I have to resist it.

Haha, yeah it is hard. I am trying to refrain from upgrading the final drive and installing an LSD on the Prelude - I keep thinking I should do it but it is large outlay.
I need to stop messing around with cars - lol
