    Hi all

Was back at the remap place today to see if they could find why my car was down on BHP.
The first thing the checked was if the was a leak anywhere.. Wich there wasnt.. then checked the intercooler. Which again was fine..

One thing they did notice was the turbo actuator was sticking (whatever that is)

So looks like I need this cleaned/lubed and possibly the turbo cleaned..
    Something about vains????

Hoping there is a bottle of magic liquid i need to pour somewhere and all will be well

Any help as always , greatly appreciated

It was mentioned ed that the end result "may" be to strip down and clean the turbo

Was it OK before the remap?

If the turbo actuator, or turbo vanes, are sticking then I'd expect the MIL to come on and a DTC stored due to either over-boosting or under-boosting. Best to connect it up to an HDS and run the boost test routines.

I wouldn't expect this sort of fault to be fixed simply by adding a liquid, even if the problem has been correctly diagnosed.

the issue of the loss of power was noticed before the remap. if I hadn't went for the remap I would never had known there was a loss in power.
before the remap 120 BHP and 140 BHP after,, however the torque was spot on .

around 6 months ago I did have a light come on regards to boost pressure but the part that was wrong was replaced by honda.

It isn't possible for the BHP to be low if the torque output is correct. BHP is the product of torque multiplied by revs.

It was a bad idea to map a car that had a fault.

it was only brought to my attention after as the before and after plots were on the graph.
how could the BHP be affected and the tourqe not??

If the dyno wasn't operated correctly ... Perhaps if the results were obtained using insufficient RPM?

tye tourqe went up to what they were expecting but drops of quite quickly .
did gain 20bhp but that only put it up to stock power.

I still think that a full HDS diagnostic would help to pinpoint the real problem, but you might have to have the original map replaced for the diagnostic results to be correctly interpreted.

What car is this? 120bhp before remap, 140 after, on a turbocharged car?! Was it worth the effort? :Frown:

stock was meant to be 140,, with an expected 175 after remap

wasn't aware that there was a problem until the remap was done.

the car is very low mileage (30,000) and only really does short srives on 30 to 50 mph roads.... could this be relevant? ?... may need one of those "Italian tune ups" that I have seen mentioned
