    Hi Guys.

My car is getting fully sound deadned on wednesday and thursday..

The car is pretty much needing to be fully striped.
roof lining,, seats,, carpet,, full boot,, pillars,, arches etc etc eetc

Is there any advice,,, bits to watch out for..
Any walkthrough for the awkward points.

Any all advice is greatly appreciated.

must admit ,, i am not looking forward to watching my car disected over 48hours

woah mate how much weight will this put on the car? roof lining well you can use enough gloves to keep the grime off the lining otherwise you will see these paw marks everywhere.

Make sure the trims when put back ate not lifting due to the insulation otherwise they will flex and break so trim the bits around the edges, don't flex cables and critical harnesses. If you break a clip or interior trim clip get a like for like no short-cuts otherwise this sound deadening is a waste of time as trim will rattle.

Lastly if in dount think twice before doing anything , and no bodge it and scarper it will not do.

at a guess somewhere between 50 and 100kg..
weight wise that is not all,,, the battery I am getting to power the audio install weighs best part of 50kg on its own, , the subs about 15 to 20 kg a piece.
then there is the full build itself costing of double skinned 18mm mdf..

in total ,,,, a lot haha

I'm hopi g that the remap may make up some of the MPG that I am so obviously going to loose.

thanks for the advice.. good point on the panels sitting flush and not being pushed out... there is going to be a range of different thickness of sound deadening for different parts of the car so hopefully it can be avoided..

does anyone know if i am likely to encounter any issues removing the 6 seats??.

All back together. . Had a nice run out in it today and I am really impress3d with the results..

In the end only 3 packs were needed. Adding around 25kg of weight which made me happy.

I do think sometime in the future I will have the full dash taken out and do the bulkhead aswell.

Wow that's a lot of effort. Is the original sound deadening really that bad?

it was quite acceptable actually. .
this is more in preperation for an audio build ,, but the difference in road noise and general driving has been very impressive .
