common feature on nearly every car the last 30 years. . .steering lock. . . put your key in the ignition , turn the wheel slightly and then the key will be ab,e to turn, unlocking the lock. .
hope this makes sense and you get it sorted.

Modern vehicles are fitted with a steering lock which is an anti-theft device. It is fitted to the steering column usually below the steering wheel. The lock is combined with the ignition switch and engaged and disengaged either by a mechanical ignition key or electronically from the vehicles electronic control unit. These locks were introduced on many General Motor products in 1969 drastically reducing thefts of these GM models,[1] and on Ford, Chrysler, and AMC products in 1970.

    You've locked the steering wheel.

    well spotted  i
may i also point out that you should never remove the key from the ignition when the car is moving :dribble:
if you find your brakes locked on ..........try releasing the hand brake ( thats the lever generaly found between the two front seats )
if your tyre is flat at the bottom .........youve got a puncture
i take it this is the christmas cracker joke thread :rasta:

Were Corn Flakes giving driving licenses away with every pack recently?

Yeah, if you buy a box of cereal you get a driving licence too. Everyone should get one.

The wheel lock on these 7th Generation are weird, you have to turn it nearly 180 degrees before it locks and it ends up sticking the wheel out around 10 degrees. I assume this is an EPS thing.

The function of the wheel lock is actually to act as a emergency brake when parking on a steep hill, hence only locking at an angle.

Interesting, I can see that doing the work on that Civic, on my Accord though it doesn't turn the wheel, well it probably does but it must be millimeters because you can't notice it.
