    Hello
I'm going to look at a 7th Generation Accord tomorrow, and I want to make sure that the Hands Free Telephone system is working ok.

How would I ago about testing this?
And how can I make a call from the HFT using my own mobile telephone.

I've never used a hands free system before so an idiots guide would be useful.

I know that the HFT can be troublesome and cause the battery to drain.

I couldn't find a HFT guide on here

Where abouts is the microphone located?

    Thanks

Does the HFT also operate the Sat Nav system as well?
And what would be the best way to make sure that the Sat Nav is working in Hands Free mode?

    If you mean Face Lift,
    It is a 2007 car.
    Thanks

Yes it means face lift. You would have to pair it with your phone first but then you can just say your own number to dial, as in speak the eleven digits rather than program in a number and dial through to your voicemail?

Sorry, yes Face Lift. If you hover over any abbreviations that are underlined, the full version appears.
FL 7th gens could have voice activated sat nav and HFT

2007 should be FL and the grill looks like this, FL 7th gen grill. and not like my blue Accord below.

    Go to www.hondahandsfree.com
Select "English" & then click on "How it works" link

There is an instruction sheet that you can print off. All you have to do is follow the steps & preferably speak towards the map lights. It's best to use your best telephone voice! don't hesitate, it doesn't like it.

Good Luck, & give me a shout if you need help putting numbers in.

Only Facelift came with HFT mate

There's a guide on using the HFT Self-Diagnostic here.

I'm currently working on a fix for this at the moment, if I'm successful I'll pop up a guide

There are a few PFL's out there with HFT. It became a dealer fit accessory for PFL's after the launch of the FL's. I looked into it at the time, but it was over £300 then.
The mechanic at my local dealership said he was fitting about two a week. He let me see one he'd done as he had to cut away part of the trim between the windscreen and door. He'd made a good job of it, but my employer wouldn't pay for it and I only really needed it for work.
