Honda have announced price for all their cars are on the increase with effect from 1st of April, what surprised me the most to see all Swindon made cars have benefited from a limited price increases.

I am sure this has been done so they can leverage any swings to the CR-V Civic and Jazz to ensure Japanese cars are not sold.

If this is not an indication that Honda want to be a three model car showroom in the UK then what is? Then you wonder why Honda is struggling..

Not the best way to sell more cars at the moment.
Some of those increases are quite large.

Raw material prices are on the increase on an annual bassis there is no doubt about it however they could have applied the same level of icreases through out the range. This slective increase just shows you if the car sells don't rock the boat and it does make it more expensive!!

    Not a wise move.

Dealer mentioned this to me at the weekend, who advised me to place my order for a CR-V now as prices go up next month.

Lets just say his persuasion was not exactly convincing. LOL

Yet more artifical assistance to the Accord demise in Europe! Honda UK must think we are stupid! Surely if raw materials, energy etc. are the reasons for increase in RRP listings then the effect should be more uniform accross the board! A Civic front wing for example CANNOT cost significantly less than the Accord equivalent part to produce - assuming they are to the same quality spec. of course  (I'm not commenting on the Hybrids as that is a more specialist product with lower supply and demand forces in play and therefore some components are bound to be more expensive and prone to fluctuations) I bet a Swindon employee is on the same money if not more than someone equivalent at Sayama for example.

Surely bringing Hondas from Japan is effectively free since all Civic, CR-V and most Jazz sold in Japan are made at Swindon and the boat has to come back here for more cars and must come back here virtually empty.

This is cost-engineering with a sole purpose to the extreme!

Are there any spec upgrades to go with those price increases?
