    Quick news: Wiesmann no longer bankrupt; Honda Civic Tourer for BTCC

    BTCC-Civic. Wiesmann, the creator of retro-styled sports cars is dismissing bankruptcy proceedings; Honda will campaign a Civic Tourer in the BTCC; Seat announces one-make race series for its Leon Cup RacerHonda will campaign a works Civic Tourer in the 2014 British Touring Car Championship. The car will be the only estate on the grid, and the first since the Volvo 850 in 1994. The cars will be driven by Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden. Peter Crolla, Honda’s team manager said the Tourer has the same weight, wheelbase and suspension as the hatchback, but is longer.
    German sports car maker Wiesmann has cancelled its bankruptcy proceedings. A company statement said: “The management board of the Wiesmann corporation has filed the application to dismiss the insolvency proceedings due to abolition of the insolvency reasons.” Wiesmann has not revealed the reasons for the change in circumstance, but said a meeting with its creditors had been postponed until 16 December.
    The Seat Leon Eurocup will be a one-make series that will feature the Leon Cup Racer. The series will span six race weekends across Europe beginning in May 2014. Seat has also revealed that the Leon Cup Racer will be priced from €70,000 (£58,000) plus VAT.

    It will be the same wheelbase mate, Quite frankly I cannot see this Civic Tourer going to be a seller so having this car in racing will up its profile.
