Any feedback on reliability of Honda Dual Mass Flywheels is welcomed?

I have been advised that the latest Honda Civic Type-R has a dual mass flywheel & next generation Honda's with turbo petrol engines, ie 10th Generation Civic due Spring 2017, will also have dual mass flywheels like the diesel engine cars already have.

    Time will tell.

Diesel Honda DMFs normally require changing through owner penny pinching on clutch replacement.

My CN1 had a DMF. Never had any problems whatsoever with the DMF. Genuine Honda parts are reliable.
Abuse you car or fit inferior aftermarket ones and it's down to you.

They can't be that bad considering the fact that they are running the Type-R in both WTCC and BTCC not to mention Eurospec running one in the UK Time Attack Championship very successfully.
I would presume that they are reliable or they wouldn't even entertain them. After all why use something that's going to fail when you could use something more reliable like the previous CTR which again ran very successfully.

Many thanks @Beefy, some other manufacturers use "neoprene" or some such material instead of steel springs and are well know for failures.

The I-CTDI went through 3 versions/2 upgrades of the DMF during production, so Honda have a fair bit of experience in such matters. Although I assume that LUK are the supplier, as with the diesels.
