Only just ordered, my new 17" lawnmower to tackle a rather large 47m back garden. Purchased from an authorised Honda dealer online, hopefully she's being delivered next week.

    hrx.

She'll be serviced annually, whether by Honda (to maintain the 7 year guarantee) or myself for the fun and less expense, I haven't decided quite yet.

I ideally wanted a 21" blade, but within the mid-range HRX series, which tends to feature better quality materials and rust proofing, the price became a little too high. I'd rather a 17" mid-range than a 21" budget mower, I do want this girl to last the years.

    Features:
    • Hand pushed
    • 42 cm (17") cutting width
    • Recoil start
    • Polystrong deck
    • 60 litre grass bag
    • Optional mulching
    • Honda 4-stroke GCV engine
I also decided against a self-propelled, in my experience unless going for a more pricey adaptable speed version (like "Hydrostatic") they tend to just run away from you at their own pace. Besides, it's good to work up a sweat in the garden right?

I'm not sure man, but maximum power is 4.4hp at 3600rpm - so it's got to be by then

The grass collection bag will go black quickly. Are you going to waterproof/seal it so that it can be cleaned more easily?

That's an excellent idea @Nels, have you come across any suitable products?

It was just a thought, having seen so many dirty, used ones online. I guess a waterproofing spray would be a good starter, The type used on walking boots etc.

I think that's a perfect idea mate, I'll have to research it more. I've seen quite a few water repellent sprays over time.

The other solution is to just die it black for the meantime, and continue doing so every few years
