    Hi Guys,

Inserting pictures into thread is relatively easy and straight forward. We prefer members uploading picture directly onto the forum.

For one they are secure and the will be backed up and it is hosted on our server.

Secondly if image is hosted on another site and it removed the image is automatically dropped from thread, damaging the thread in the process.

We have sufficient storage on the server and bandwidth to upload images directly.

    How to Insert Pictures

On the Formatting bar select Insert Image

    Insert Image.JPG

You will then get a Pop Up box (Insert Image)

    Insert Image box.JPG
For this thread I am just going to concentrate on the method of uploading images directly from your computers.

    Click on Select Files

As you can see you can insert Pictures from (FromURL) which will then store it permanently on the forum, but will be discussed on another thread.

You will received this pop up box when you Select Files

    Select your Image.JPG
Browse to your picture source on your Computer, select the one or select multiple pictures and click open.

The files will appear like so

    Image Upload.JPG

Click on Upload Files , if the file was successful you will receive a green tick box next to the size of the image.

That complete the process of Uploading the Image to the server.

How to Attach your uploaded picture to the thread\post?

On the formatting bar Select the Paper Clip

    Paper Clip.JPG
You will receive this pop up box, you can see the image already attached to the bottom.

    Manage Pictures Box.

Select the check box along side the image as shown below and click Insert Inline ( number of Picture) in this case just the one

Manage Pictures Box Select you file.JPG

You then see your Image within the thread.

    Advance Picture Editing tips.

Now you have uploaded the picture to the thread, you now want to change the Picture size and give more information about the pictures.

On the Formatting Bar hit the Switch Editor to Source Mode. It the first icon from left to right with the A/A icon.

    Source mode.JPG

Once you click the icon you will see the code of the image inserted. You insert text or move the code around surrounding your stentences and give the spacing you need.

    Picture tag in Source mode.JPG

If you click on the same Icon Switch Editor to WYSIWYG Mode you see your Image again.

To Increase the Image size double click on the Picture in WYSIWYG Mode you will receive this pop up box.

    Image Settings changes.JPG
You can enter additional text if you want and change the orientation of the image. Please note if you change the size of the picture and you have text around the image it will change the text layout and formatting .

So always flick between Switch Editor to Source Mode & Switch Editor to WYSIWYG Mode to see the threads format. The final check before submitting is clicking Preview to see the formatting of the pictures and text is all aligned to your liking.

    Advise.
Please be careful what pictures you insert make sure you have the permission from the person it belongs to.

Inserting rude and pornographic images is not allowed if you do you will be dealt with or face a instant ban which will not be overturned.

Guys, We have been experiencing a few gremlins whilst inserting pictures to a thread, some have no issues but some do.

Some members are finding after inserting images the images have turned to following text:

    Attachment3764

If you see this click on edit post and remove all of text you see (some may see images in few cases) after removal try uploading your images again. if you don't fix this within an hour of posting the images they will be automatically cleared from the server and lost for good.

Yes, I used that method but it wouldn't find any images on my computer tab.

This issue has now been resolved, please ensure you are in advance mode (by clicking Go Advance) whilst insetting images into existing posts.

The quick reply image insertions does have a 50% chance of failure and that purely down to the software and is beyond our control.
