I dare you. I double dare you.
(On the positive side, my spanner set is now squiky clean).
I get more satisfaction if she hand polishes my tool.... cannot go wrong with a good old traditional spit n polish.
Hmmm. A thought for you. Why are your, 'tools' not cleaned when you use them?

I wouldn't let her anywhere near my tools. That thought just wouldn't enter my mind.

Like a bishop which needs bashing
Just got a little bit of OCD Sad isn't it
cj stop it i can see this getting very wrong
This looks as if it is only going one way from here...
yep nothing better than putting a nice shiney tool back in the box
Would you really use these to get a, 'nice shiney tool'?
Surfactants (detergents) - these promote mixing between oil- and fat-based soil and water.
Alkalis - these emulsify grease and adjust the pH of the water to the optimum for the other components to work
Bleaches - these oxidise coloured substances to colourless ones
Biosubstances - these are enzymes that break down starch- and protein-based soils
Builders - these help to soften water and trap metal ions that would interfere with the cleaning process and hold dirt in solution
Auxiliaries - these include substances used to make and disintegrate the tablet as well as colours and perfumes
After this stunt I'm sensing that I won't be allowed to put any tools in any box for at least a few weeks.
all above are far to abrasive and are only good for a quick vigorous polish and leave the job half done ok if your looking for a quick shine
rubbing in a light oily coating preserves the surface from wear and abrasion requiring just a light rub off to finish the job nicely
far from it tools require constant attenntion if you want to get the best out of them, keep "up" the good work it seem like your pretty handy at polishing !
im sure you have brought a lot of attention to members on this forum
you also have to check her shoe size so that she can stand close to the kitchen sink to do the washing up there instead
