There arew people who spend a lot of time cleaning their car ...I don't (well, I did clean the Suzuki the other day for some strange reason, but I only used washing-up liquid and a previously unused hose-brush on the end of the hose)

    my_Accord_1.

For me, this car is clean LOL

But it's got worse now, it's got a bit of moss and slime round the windows, which is going too far IMO

Before I need to use the lawn-trimmer on it, I'd like to at least stop the moss and slime.

    All ideas welcome.

Wind the windows down and put some IPA or equivalent onto a cloth and wipe the moss away on the rubber and weatherstrip.

To me - that car is dirty

Do you have it round the rear window as that is tricky to get out?

What!? :gotcha: I have some wash n wax sat in the shed I would gladly give to you.

I will bring my cleaning kit with me on the day to give it a lil going over if want  I would especially like to tackle those exhaust tips and get them shining again.

The bit about the lawn trimmer did make me chuckle

Washing up liquid is great for removing car wax. A really bad thing to use on an actual car

tbh the moss is in all sorts of places, I'm surprised how moss has got to it under a car-port

    shall I bring a hose-pipe to Castle-Combe LOL

It might be another Honda, but I'm sure it's not your car

Well it's a good job I mentioned it, I only used it on the Suzuki, which probably never had wax on anyway

Only on a Suzuki so far. Cleaned the car up a treat, no sign of this stuff called "wax" on that car.
Some bees have built a next in the shed, I decided to let them get on with it, maybe I could convince them that the Accord is a better place for them, all that wax n'all

here's my collection of things for cleaning cars

Brush on the left used once so far (on the Suzuki)
    IMAG1307.

That stuff on the left also works on Suzuki's ....not tried the stuff on the right yet
    IMAG1309.

i tried this to get slime off the roof of a caravan I had before I sold it, didn't do much so I used washing-up liquid LOL
    IMAG1310.

As you can see, jimjams x cleaning = zero

I watched someone wash their car with one of these the other day. It took very little effort.

^ 94 miles ....diagonally across the country :Frown:

Maybe I should take the car to the Sahara, wouldn't that get rid of the moss and slime ?

in Germany, under an hour. I once drove 135 miles in 75 minutes at about 3am in that very car in Germany

seriously though, I could leave it for Castle Combe, but where would we get all the water from ?

It would be better to give it a good blitz before hand then a lil going over would be ok on the day. I know where there is a tap to fill up buckets there as had to give mine a wash on the day I did show and shine as was mint the night before but tipped it down n was plastered in mud by time got there through the country lanes.

A cleaning masterclass on the stand at the show...nice! Assuming we can get warm water, obviously.

Many years ago one of my friends got a brand new car (a Rover Metro!). He didn't know anything about cleaning it, and couldn't get the dead flies off the front of the (solid blue coloured) bonnet. He used a Brillo Pad! The results weren't good...

Over twenty years later that incident still gives me nightmares.

I reckon we should help @jimjams set up a car cleaning business on the side specialising in VAG vehicles using a combination of brake fluid and sandpaper in order to remove those stubborn stains

Surely I would have to invest in this to go anywhere near VAG cars

    Chemical_Lab_Worker.

and use this on the seats
    sulphuric-acid-250x250.
