I have a 2015 petrol CR-V SE. When I am camping I often sit in one of the rear seats for an hour or so (with the car stationary) as these seats are more comfortable than my old folding camping chairs. I have noticed that after a while the rear interior light does not come on when the switch is turned on. If I return the switch to the door activated position and open the door the light works as expected. If I then close the door the light goes out as expected and moving the switch to the on position then turns the light on OK. If i then sit in the car for another hour without opening a door the light again fails to come on with the switch. Is this a deliberate thing to prevent battery drain or should I report it at my next service?

I couldn't say for certain, but it sounds deliberate.

Thanks for that. I suspect you are most likely right.
