All 4 black sections on the doors have what looks like a bleaching effect.
Is it that the paint is gone here?

Will it need a resray or is it some sort of calcium build up.

Hard to tell from the 'photo @RobsyUK

It could just be a build up of window cleaner or wax. I'd try something like Chemical Guys New Look trim gel first to see if it helps.

There was also something somewhere about treating black trim with a heat gun - if it is plastic?

I can't remember if it was my Accord, MPS or CR-V but I think I just resprayed mine with Matt black and it looked just like new afterwards.

I guess if the paint is gone you could wrap it too?

I think it just needs cleaning or use a dressing as per @FirstHonda's suggestion.

    It's defiantly metal.
Tried to 'clean' it and it made it worse.
If I could guarantee a rattle can would come out near perfect I'd do it.

I am probably better off paying someone to do them.

With my shaky hands I'll end up doing the neighbours car.

Its normally a slightly rough surface which goes white when wax etc gets in it. As said a product like back to black/bumper black will do but you need to apply regularly.

All you have to do is mask the surrounding area. Being a matt finish and the type of job there's no wet sanding, lacquering, compound polishing etc. It's literally a spray, wait an hour, another coat, wait an hour then another coat if necessary then give it a good few hours to dry.

Sounds good to me, I was only a valeter so more of a bodge was the order of the day. Dip a rag in some gunk, job done ( for a few weeks )

They are supposed to have black vinal stickers from new. They may have been taken off at some point and painted anyway. You should be able to buy the stickers from Honda and make a nice job of them

I've decided I'm going to get these black sections carbon wrapped but do I go for black of the brown carbon effect of the dash?
