Are they the first Honda vehicles to be made in Mexico?

It'll be interesting to see reports about how owners judge the build quality. I have no experience with swindon-built models, but it disappoints me that they are often criticised as not being as good as the Japanese-built vehicles.

What I am Leo saw at Geneva(Pre-production model) it was good but I have mega reservation on the build of the Mexican cars personally. They won't be anywhere close to Japan and I will be controversial and say there can be a toss up when compared with Swindon, and Swindon may nudge a tad better than the Mexican car.

Someone I've been speaking with lately who works at Swindon shared his own reservations about Mexican build quality, however as CJ says the one we saw in Geneva was definitely up to scratch.

I'm not liking the shape all that much to be honest.

I respect your opinion, but it is just so good to see positive moves in expanding the range over here.
Plus, the public are fickle. They need constant reminding about a brand. 'New' product launces are a great way to do this.

It's actually one of my favourite Honda designs in years. Give us a USDM Civic, the Acura TLX for an Accord, some coupe, all with bigger engine options and Honda would do just fine in Europe.

^^ I really like the shape as well, understated but modern.

The thing that puts me off is the lack of a 4WD option. Shame, but that is the way the market is going - customers seem to want the design and driving position of a small SUV but aren't worried about any additional traction, with low running costs being more important.

^^ TBH if they hadn't thrown the kitchen sink at the Geneva show car they should be taken out and shot! Even if the build isn't as good as Honda Japan, let's hope it is at least the equal of Honda Swindon as that is better than most other manufacturers

I and Helen like it too but may hold out for the Facelift HR-V if we decide to get one or see the new CR-V in 2017.

Agreed, but I'm quite sure the 4WD won't be needed per se considering the power being put down. What I do wish we'd seen is Honda's new 1.5 turbo, I'm surprised it's not being used in this, but do understand why.

The more I look at it the more I like it. . Think its been styled really well.

Yes it would be nice if it had 4WD but as I have come to realise over the last few years is a decent set of winter tyres and I personally wouldn't need the 4WD.
