    Wow, that's an extreme way of getting shiney panels !

    Whats done about the lost clear coat ? Apply a few layers of wax ?

    wet sanding does remove the clear coat , it not a thing which should be repeatedly done on cars.

    Infact it should be done at body shops when the car come out of the oven for its final finish and flattening, IMHO wet sanding after that process is to shift the car as peach.

    Not to forget if you get wet sanding wrong you will ruin the car paint and if in a body shop it can be rectified.
