My wife's Honda Jazz 2nd Generation (2005/55) has recently been written off in an accident. She has now purchased a 3rd Generation 2008 (58) however this only came with one key. I understand that getting a 2nd key cut for the car is pricy, I've just realised that we have 2 of the keys for the old car still kicking around the house. To be honest these look identical and I was wondering if they can be reused? I have the key code for the new car.

What type of key is it ? Is it like a 2 or 3 button all in one key and remote ?

You could get a blank 2 button keyfob off ebay, cut the transponder out of one your spare keys and put in your new keyfob.

You'll then just need an auto locksmith to cut the key and program the cars immobilser for you.
