Off-Topic Lunatic part 3D prints first handheld railgun, which fires plasma projectiles

    Handheld Railgun: Video shows first portable railgun, fires plasma | BGR

    Lunatic, Genius, or Massive Homeland defence problem... Only time will tell. I had heard of a gun being printed, but rail guns are way more awesome.

    I'm now wondering if a 3D printer can 3D print a 3D printer. (Would that count as Meta?)
    Also, should we be keeping robots and these things apart, once they can self replicate the only thing they will need us for is to pay the electricity bill and change their battery/cambelt every 3 years.

    3D printers certainly are used to print other 3D printer parts.

    There's still a lot of manual intervention in the printing at the moment though so no worries of "The Machines" taking over just yet :Grin:
