    Honda have issued the following TSB # SO-03-003-00 dated 18-06-2014 for the affected Vehicles.

    Honda Civic 5 Door FK3 Year Models 13 & 14
    Honda Civic Tourer FK3 Year Models 14
    Honda CR-V I-DTEC 2 Wheel drive RE6 Year Models 14

    The Symptoms
    1. The MIL light illuminates, some customers may experience the vehicle going into limp home mode.
    2. The following DTC may be found.
    DTC P2199 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor ½ Incorrect Voltage Correlation.
    DTC P0181 - Fuel Temperature / Engine Coolant
    Temperature (ECT) Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Incorrect Voltage Correlation

    The Cause
    Natural moisture in the EGR system adversely affects the silver metal of the temperature sensing element which is within the MAP sensor. This affects the
    sensors voltage, current and resistance capabilities. This then illuminates the MIL light, stores the DTC’s and causes the vehicle to go into limp home mode.

    The Fix
    1. An improved MAP sensor has been introduced which no longer uses silver in the temperature sensing part.
    2. The Engine ECM software has been optimised to work in conjunction with the improved MAP sensor.

    Repair Method
    1. Clear DTC.
    2. Rewrite the engine ECM using software version HDS 3.013.023 May 2014 or later.
    3. Replace MAP Sensor

    If you experience the car going into limp mode please consult you nearest dealer to ascertain this is the fault outlined in this TSB.

    Further to this TSB Honda have released a further TSB outlining revised details for this Product update. Honda have issued TSB#SO-03-003-01 dated 22-09-14

    Affected models
    Honda Civic 5 Door FK3 Year Models 13 & 14
    Honda Civic Tourer FK3 Year Models 14
    Honda CR-V I-DTEC 2 Wheel drive RE6 Year Models 14

    Symptom
    1. The engine MIL illuminates and some customers may notice a reduction in engine torque and inhibition of the Idle Stop function.
    2. The following DTC may be found.
    DTC P2199 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor 1/2 Incorrect Voltage Correlation.
    DTC P0181 - Fuel Temperature / Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Incorrect Voltage Correlation

    Cause

    Note: There is no CR-V VIN cut off for South Africa and Australia as no affected vehicles have been shipped to those markets.

    Market Treatment
    Honda - UK will call in all vehicles in the affected VIN range, please contact your dealer is you need further information. The affected VIN list is with all dealers.

    Repair Method
    1. Clear DTC.
    2. Rewrite the engine ECM using software version HDS 3.013.023 May 2014 or later.
    3. Replace MAP Sensor as per WSM.
