Ouch, glad to hear she's okay and the insurance paid for the cost of the garage!

The other night I was dog tired after finishing a long day of painting and stripping walls, parked up outside my mother's house and started rubbing my eyes as they were stinging. All of a sudden something didn't feel "right" and I glanced up to notice I was rolling forward, slammed my brake on just as came to smack right into my friend's Suzuki Swift - yeah don't relax after driving until that handbrake's up

Woohoo I ge to drive mum's Jazz for week while I'm down there. I'm glad it takes speeding fines more than 2 weeks to get posted

She just writes them a letter saying she an old widower living on a pittance and they cut it in half

Now I just gotta find some mods I can add to her car while I'm there

Maybe automated emergency braking ?

You got a better car than I had when I went for a two week break to see my old man.

I'm not even going to say what car it was LOL

I did manage to do one mod on though

I went out to my mum's Jazz this morning (having only arrived here last night) and noticed a golf ball tied to a string , in turn hanging from the light fitting. Not quite sure what it was for, I asked my mum and she said she couldn't judge the distance in front of her car in the garage (previous pictures are evidence of that ;-) ), so my brother hung a golf ball from the light fighting in the garage and told my mum 'When this knocks your windscreen, stop and you won't hit the wall of the garage'.

I wish I had a garage in the UK the same size as this one !!!! Since we sold my dad's car and most of this stuff since he passed away, it looks so empty.

Once the weather clears up, I'll give her car a nice wash.

It works, assuming the old girl can go forward slowly, in a controlled fashion ;-)

Good idea. I didn't even see it when I drove the car in the first night.

Nice little system. My neighbour has a big RangeRover and for this, in his garage he has screwed down a length of wood along the floor, so as he drives back and touches this piece of wood with the rear tyres he knows hes gone far enough.

Did the same with my folks @SpeedyGee - they got a little mx5 they use in summer and its a tight fit in their tandem garage, so I put a bit of 3 inch foam on the back wall, and a 4x4 bolted on the floor right where the rear wheels go when the back of the car is a 3 inches away from the wall. Works well.

Excellent I will remove the mudflaps off my Jazz on day one. That Jazz without them looks perfect.

Good job Roger that looks proper roasting over there ..

Yeah, it's so hot that I had to wear shoes, as the bricks were roasting. It actually amazed me how quickly the water dried, and I had to re-apply water while drying to stop it from leaving streaks behind.
